The setreuid() function shall set the real and effective user IDs of the calling process to the value, specified as its argument. According to LSB, if this argument equals to the saved set-user-ID, setreuid() shall always be successful to set the real user ID to this value. But on the target machine setreuid() fails when trying to set the real user ID to the saved set-user-ID value.
